PRESIDENT & CEO

I grew up in southwestern Louisiana, about 4 miles from Texas. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Lamar University in Texas, a Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate in Theology and Apologetics from Liberty University. I worked for over a decade as a minister to college students and single adults in Texas and Georgia. Feeling led by God to become a church planter, I moved my family from the Atlanta, GA to plant Breakpoint Community Church in Hackettstown, NJ in 2002.  I have now been pastor of Breakpoint for almost 23 years. I have been married to Maryanne for 27 years, and we have three children. 

VICE PRESIDENT

I grew up in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the small community of Ferrum, Virginia. I am a journey lineman with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and my job has afforded me numerous opportunities to travel all over America.

While working in New Jersey from 2020 to 2023, I attended Breakpoint Community Church and became involved in Bible studies and ministries at the church. God has blessed me with a heart for others, and I eventually went on my first mission trip with Breakpoint to Acuna, Mexico, in April 2023.

With the demands of my work, I have always found it difficult to find time to get intimately involved in the Lord’s work, aside from financial support and attending church. However, I felt the Lord leading me to sacrifice my time.

Since that first mission trip, I have returned to Acuna several times. I have also been on missions to Nicaragua and western North Carolina to help in disaster response following Hurricane Helene.

I have been so blessed by all the opportunities God has brought my way since I surrendered to His calling to mission work. I love sharing the gospel and blessing others as God’s hands, feet and voice. This is why I became part of The Lift Collaborative.

TREASURER

God has blessed me with the opportunity to serve Him and to grow the Kingdom of Heaven through the efforts of The Lift Collaborative. I am a recent graduate of Liberty University with a Master of Divinity and have been the Missions Coordinator at Breakpoint Community Church for the past five years. Together with my beautiful wife and two wonderful children, I have helped share the Gospel with disadvantaged people in my community, across the country, and around the world. I make a living as a mechanical engineer with plans for a second career in ministry and disciple-making. I trust God’s plan for my life and am excited to see what he has for me next.

Hi, my name is Rachel Bernard. I live in NJ with my husband Andy and my 2 beautiful children Julia and Christopher.  We have been attending Breakpoint Community church for 8 years. Through Breakpoint my heart has grown more and more towards helping others and giving back what God has blessed us with. In my down time I love baking. My pride and joy each year is my Gingerbread house which seems to get bigger and bigger each year and is now more like a Gingerbread village. God is good!

Hi, I’m Maryanne Young and I grew up in Stone Mountain GA. I married my husband, Bart, in 1997 and we have three grown children. We moved to New Jersey in 2001 to start a church plant and have a wonderful congregation and community here. We love being engaged in Missions and my husband Bart started The Lift Collaborative to help meet the needs and share the love of Jesus with people all over the world.

I am also a small business owner and sell homemade gifts and special items. My latest endeavor is selling items to help the missions projects of Breakpoint Church and The Lift Collaborative. Together with my family, we love serving in missions and making a small difference in the world for Jesus.

Hi! I’m Sheryl, a widow, mother of three married sons and nine active grandchildren! Prior to my husbands passing in 2013, together, we helped plant two churches and began serving in missionary work. In 2014 the Lord sent me to Breakpoint Community Church where I serve as decorating coordinator and in many of our churches outreach projects.

In 2019 I vacationed to beautiful Belize. While there, I felt the prompting of the Holy Spirit to plant a church on the tiny island of Caye Caulker, Belize. The Lord opened the doors and we are now in the early stages of fulfilling His desire for the families and children of Belize. I am extremely excited to see how God will move among this tiny island as well as the other projects of TLC!
